Culture: Fill a pot or tray with compost approximately 2.5cm (1") from the top. Sprinkle your seeds thinly on the top of the compost and cover lightly with compost no deeper than 6mm (¼"). Water gently. Leave on a warm windowsill or in a greenhouse to germinate. Keep compost moist. When your seedlings are 3cm (1¼") high, transfer into 9cm (3½") containers and finally plant outside when danger of frost has passed. Seeds can also be sown directly into finely raked soil leaving 15cm (6") between plants, or in 10cm (4") pots on your windowsill. Pick leaves as required from mid-summer. Pinch shoot tips to encourage bushy growth. From sowing to cropping 16 weeks.
